Treatment Issues

I help women struggling with insecurity rediscover who they are and what they want out of life.

My clients struggle as you do. Even though they are extremely capable, nice to everyone, and look like they have their life together, they are struggling inside. When they first come in, they feel alone, worthless, and afraid of change. Many of them have been ignored or dismissed by other men.

As they go about their days, my clients also worry if they’re doing the right things. They ask themselves if they’ll ever feel good enough. Their need to keep other people happy often keeps them from pursuing the life they want.

Like my clients, you deserve to feel more secure in who you are. Having confidence in yourself and what you bring to the table is possible. As a therapist, I work to help my clients stop people-pleasing and start living a life they actually enjoy. I’d be honored to do the same for you.

Therapeutic Approach

When I meet with new clients, the first thing I do is provide space for them to share their story—to the extent that they feel comfortable. I want to hear what is troubling you. As I listen, I offer an empathetic ear. One that says, “Your struggles make sense. Of course this is hard.” I also let my clients know that I believe them—their suffering is real and valid.

We can work together to process your hurts. We will identify the values that are important to you and how you can live a life that reflects these values. In time, we also work on learning how to set boundaries with others.

When it is a good fit, I offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help clients work through past experiences that have left a harmful impact. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps your brain shift from feeling as if the past hurts are happening in the here and now to recognizing that they happened there and then. This often helps people experience deeper peace and confidence.

During talk therapy, I provide a space for you to feel oriented to what is happening in your life. When life feels overwhelming, I provide my clients with specific tools they can start practicing right away. Instead of coping with food, a Target run, or doom scrolling, you will learn ways to reconnect with your body, slow your breath, and recenter.

Treatment Population

I specialize in working with women and also am open to seeing male clients. I especially enjoy working with folks ages 40 and up.

My Journey

I’m a recovering people-pleaser who loves playing board games with friends and cross-stitching while listening to music. My wife and I are new parents to the cutest baby girl, and I love being her dad. I’m an outgoing introvert who learned early in life how to make myself small for the sake of others. Through receiving my own therapy (including EMDR), I’ve grown in feeling comfortable being myself and asking for what I need.

My journey of healing through therapy is a huge part of why I became a therapist. I have seen just how powerful it can be for someone to offer a safe place to process the hurts and experience healing from the inside out. Therapy helped me realize that my voice matters, and I can use it to speak up for myself and others who are hurting. Your story is your own, and not all paths of healing look the same. But I hope that our work together could offer you space to heal and grow.
