Using a strength-based approach, I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is an empowering journey that teaches reframing, recognizing distorted thoughts, embracing the term “survivor,” regulating emotions, and changing your overall thought process. I also have years of experience practicing Multi-Systemic Therapy, which helps me understand how all of the systems impact your success.
Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, adult children of alcoholics, co-dependency, grief/loss, relationship/marital issues, caregiver fatigue, parenting struggles, adjustment difficulties, work stress, and more.
I work with ages 17-90. I draw from my experience working with children to assist with parenting issues, adjustment issues, etc.
I started my career working with children in a residential setting. After a couple of years, I transitioned into the foster care system to ensure children were well cared for while working towards reunification with parents or finding their forever adoptive home. After years of working with children that had been removed from the home, I began practicing in-home family therapy. This is where my passion for family dynamics and the role that the family of origin plays into present day challenges was realized. After many years with families, I worked for five years as a therapist and in leadership in an acute hospital setting. I enjoyed this role for about 5 years, to include roles in leadership. I left upper management in 2018 and returned to clinical practice, where I happily serve today.
